For those who would like to donate to a breast cancer charity, the producers of ‘-1287’ provide the following links as a place to begin. As with donating to any charity, please research organizations to find the ones that you would like to support.

They also offer a programme of care designed to help women with breast cancer feel better and develop a healthier lifestyle. For people who can’t get to a Haven centre, they offer the Haven at Home multi media package”
  • Breast Cancer Campaign is a research-focused community of those affected by breast cancer, researchers, and supporters committed to funding research projects in the UK and Ireland that provide the greatest potential impact to patients.
  • Breakthrough Breast Cancer is focused solely on cutting-edge breast cancer research. See what they are doing to research ways to better detect, prevent, and treat breast cancer.
  • Maggie’s Cancer Care Centres are located on the grounds of NHS hospitals and offer a variety of free support for cancer patients and their families and caregivers.While staffed with professionals and experts, Maggie’s Centres are warm, cozy, and inviting and offer a cup of tea to go along with their professional support and advice.
  • London Cancer Care Alliance offers online resources as well as an integrated cancer care system serving West and South London.
  • South East London Breast Cancer Trust is a grouping of patients and their relatives and friends raising money to support breast cancer patients residing in South East London.

  • Early Detection Plan: Software (available as an app) that helps you create a personalized plan to detect breast cancer early.  Get reminders for monthly breast self-exams and mammograms based on your personal health history.  Offered by the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
  • After Breast Cancer Diagnosis (ABCD) Support Group was founded mostly by breast cancer survivors, and offers one-on-one support to women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. While the group is based in Milwaukee, their services are available for free anywhere, as long as you have a phone.

INTERNATIONAL

  • Pink Ribbon is an international breast cancer charitable organization that defines itself by the “5 A’s”: Awareness, Alignment, Advocacy, Accreditation, Alliances.
  • Keep A Breastis an international, youth-led breast cancer non-for-profit organization. Combating breast cancer through art, education, awareness, and action.
  • International Breast Cancer Research Foundation is focused on conducting cost-effective global research to help reduce the suffering caused by breast cancer as well as the mortality rate.

  • Cancer Support Community offers a global support and resource network to those diagnosed with cancer.
  • “Pink-Link is a nonprofit organization and all online services are free. Pink-Link’s key service is an online database of Breast Cancer survivors, family members and friends. Connecting with other survivors creates an intimate and personal link between those going through breast cancer treatment and those that have completed their treatment. The website offers information about where you can find the nearest LGFB workshop.
  • Cancer Counseling Trust’s Dealing with Cancer website offers a wide range of information, answers, and support for those dealing with a cancer diagnosis. Services include free face-to-face or telephone counseling for those diagnosed with cancer and their families, loved ones, and caregivers.
